Community Festival Week

The forum strongly supports St Finbarr’s Community Festival Week which runs annually during the month of August. During this week, there will be a wide range of activities and initiatives throughout the forum area to promote community safety and positive lifestyle choices.

The week opens with our famous community parade which includes all clubs and organizations in the area marching in colorful procession led by the Artane Band from Cannaught St to John Paul Park for the final of the local road leagues. There is also a fire safety display at this event which gives useful advice and information on fire safety in the home.

A wide range of events are organised for the whole family during the festival week including competitions for best front garden, community photography, art and dance; skating lessons, sporting tournaments, senior citizens tea dance, bi lingual treasure hunt, youth quiz and disco, video display in clubhouse containing messages from local people originally from Cabra now living abroad, storytelling sessions and family night at Harold’s Cross.

This busy week ends with a fantastic family fun day with a wide range of games and activities, including information and displays from the local community Gardaí.
