How we work

Cabra Community Policing Forum works in partnership with the voluntary and statutory agencies and local community to reduce crime, anti-social behaviour and fear of crime locally.

Cabra Community Policing Forum has 4 area based neighbourhoods – Cabra East, Cabra West, Annamoe and the Shandon/Phibsboro area.

Public consultative meetings are held twice annually in each area. The purpose of these meetings is to provide the local community with the opportunity to raise any concerns about crime, anti social behaviour, estate management and other associated issues. For details of next meeting in your local area please click here.

Also, bi-monthly structured forum meeting take place which are attended by local Garda management, DCC management, local public representatives and key community representatives. These structured meetings have a set agenda to review reports from Garda and DCC management and may also include issues raised at public meetings or through contact with forum co-ordinator.

These meetings also provide an opportunity to discuss in detail any possible underlying causes for constant or reoccurring problems. This is done through a problem solving method where by all stakeholders are brought together to identify, analyse and responds to a particular lingering problem.

This process agrees the actions needed to solve the problem and identifies the people who will carry out these actions. There are then follow-up meetings to update on progress and discuss impediments to progress.
